The Marmotte is one of the great climb cyclo's in Europe. The cyclo is called after the animal that resides in the piece of the high-alps. The route of the Marmotte crosses the Isère, Savoie and High-Alpes thereby climbing the mythical passes of the Glandon (1918 m), the Telegraph (1570 m), Galibier (2642 m) and the Lautaret (2057 m ), finishing on the 21 bends of the Alpe d'Huez (1880 m). The cyclo starts in Bourg d'Oisans and finishes at the Palais des Sports in Alpe d'Huez. Every year, about 7,000 cycling and climbing enthousiasts participate to the cyclo. Be quick to subscribe beginning of December, cause subscriptions are limited.
NOTE: Follow D1091 from Lac du Chambon to Bourg d'Oisans. Map is incorrect.
