The Giro d'Italia celibrates its 100 year in 2009 and, for the occasion, will welcome Lance Armstrong, for the first time at the start of the "centoanni". A special edition is being made up for this occassion. The Giro 2009 starts in Venice and makes small detours to France and Austria. The second last stage with a ride to the Vesuvius near Naples and the the chronorace on the last day should bring the decision.
